Pocono Mountain Regional EMS is a Non-Profit Organization that provides ALS (Advanced Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) to the coverage area. We responded to approximately 5400 dispatches in 2008, each transport is approximately 50 miles round trip adding 43,000.00 miles per year to each ambulance. PMREMS supplies standby service to the local fire and police departments. PMREMS has one of the largest junior programs working with Monroe County Technical Institute encouraging students to seek further education in the EMS field.

 

In 2007, we were able to purchase a new 2008
ambulance which brings our number of trucks to (6) that service Coolbaugh, Tobyhanna and Tunkhannock Township and Mt. Pocono Borough. Grants supplied by Representative Mario Scavello's Office, Wal-Mart Distribution, Lion's Club and the Women's Club enabled us to purchase (2) 12-lead EKG monitors. In-kind donations from Laubscher and Wal-Mart enabled us to supply our BLS trucks with defibrillators.
